#114 Telecaster

#114, telecaster, made from ash wood, with white pickguard and ebony fretboard. Front view.

Netherlands, January 2023

Sometimes a building commision can look simple from the outside, but still is a very specific job.

This telecaster has the string scale, and the neck profile of a Gibson ES335. This makes the neck a bit shorter and wider than expected on this guitar. With the 16th fret as the center, the neck is scaled down, but also the positions of the bridge and pickups. Even the neck pocket is true custom made for this guitar.

Another request was to make the color of the body and the head more yellow. Because I don't use laquer finish on electric guitars, I made a few test panels with light colored stain and oil, on polished wood, untill color and color fastness where perfect.
