The Slide King lap steel guitar is inspired by the lap steels like the Gibson EH-150.
The sound of the lap steel is warm and round, and very suitable for warm Hawaiian and blues styles.
The body is made from solid zebra wood. This heavy African wood gives the lap steel rich harmonics, and a long sustain. Playing harmonics (like Jerry Byrd's Maui Chimes) has never been easier.
Both versions of the Slide King lap steel are fitted with a Jason Lollar P90 pickup. The 8-string pickup is made exclusive for the Slide King.
The Slide King is available as a 6-string or as an 8-string instrument.

Jerry Douglas about the Slide King:
"I love my Slide King lap steel from Fern's Guitars.
It has a big fat sound coming from that hunk of zebra wood and a great sounding P90 from Jason Lollar.
Great craftmanship! A wonderful addition to my arsenal."
