Lap steel 13-string.
Solid body 13-string lap steel made from African padouk, with a top of sycamore (Platanus aceriflia). Sycamore is a very common tree in big cities, and has a very spectaculair pattern. The lap steel is made around a Jason Lollar Chicago pickup, as used for the Deco Slide lapsteels.
Topnut and bridge are made out of aluminum. Strings are attached through the body with a brass tailpiece at the back of the instrument. On the pictures the size of the instrument is compared to a standard six string Slide King lap steel guitar.
Koa fretboards.
Custom made fretboards. Made from Hawaiian koa wood. For a customers building project.
