Repairs

Sooner or later, every instrument needs maintenance. With over fifteen years of experience, I am able to do high quality repairs and customizings, yet still with love for the instrument.

Fern's Guitars does not believe in a standard setup on guitars, as promised sometimes in shops. As much as possible, I will try to adjust your instrument according to your personal needs and playing style. This means for example a higher action (string height) for one musician, and a lower action for another musician.

Setup and repair data are archived as much as possible. For example, in the case the playability of a guitar changes, it is easy to measure the difference. An extra service for your instrument.

For fretwork, Dunlop or Jescar frets (nickel-silver and stainless steel) are used in most cases (most sizes are in stock). and professional tools. The instrument is setup properly with fresh strings after the job.

Fern's Guitars is well known for it's high quality repairs of guitar electronics, like pickups and potmeters. Nice soldering joints, and no mess of wirings, that are only cause of noise. Every instrument is also being checked for good grounding, to return the instrument as quiet as possible.
